Turn verified environmental work into EPR, carbon and water credits.
MPRO 9 helps municipalities, recyclers and private entities find the credits they qualify for, register them on the right portal or registry, and build the evidence verifiers ask for. We also audit EPR, carbon and water claims before a regulator or verifier does.

Who we help
Three kinds of clients, three routes to credit value
The credits a city can claim are different from those open to a recycler or a brand owner. Choose your organisation to see where value usually sits and how we help.
For cities, towns and villages
Municipal corporations, municipalities, town and gram panchayats, development authorities and the agencies that run their waste and water services.
A good first step
A data and eligibility review of one MRF, compost plant, STP or ward.
Dry waste recovered at MRFs and sold to registered recyclers, who generate EPR certificates
Wet waste composted or digested into biogas, which avoids methane
Legacy dumpsites where landfill gas can be captured
Treated sewage reused by industry or city services, and rainwater harvesting and recharge
Urban plantations and lake or mangrove restoration
How we help
Baseline your waste, water and green-cover data and identify eligible activities
Test regulatory surplus and additionality before you commit effort
Structure agreements with recyclers, producers and buyers so the local body keeps its data and its share of value
Set up digital MRV on WASTRAQ or your existing systems
Prepare DPRs and project documents, and support registration and verification
For processors and aggregators
Plastic waste processors, e-waste recyclers and dismantlers, battery recyclers and refurbishers, tyre and used-oil processors, MRF operators and aggregators.
A good first step
A certificate-readiness audit of your last compliance year.
EPR registration, targets and annual returns, including recycled-content and reuse obligations
GHG inventories for BRSR and customers, and offset projects such as biogas, efficiency and plantations
STP reuse and rainwater harvesting on your sites, toward water credits or water-positive claims
Green credits for CSR plantations, and energy attribute certificates for captive renewables
In the UAE, emissions reporting under Federal Decree-Law No. 11 of 2024
How we help
EPR obligation mapping, and certificate purchases backed by supplier due diligence
GHG inventories to ISO 14064-1 and the GHG Protocol, ready for assurance
Feasibility and documentation for carbon and water credit projects on your sites
Quality checks on credits before you buy or retire them
Credits we work with
Each credit has its own rulebook, registry and unit
We match your activity to the instrument that fits it, and we tell you when none does.
EPR certificatesExtended Producer Responsibility, India
Tonnes, by category
Generated on CPCB's portals by registered processors for waste they have processed. Producers, importers and brand owners buy them to meet their EPR targets.
Recyclers and processors, PIBOs, and local bodies that supply recyclers
Carbon creditsCompliance and voluntary markets
1 tCO₂e
Each credit represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent reduced or removed, issued only after independent verification.

Plastic credits
Verra's Plastic Program issues Waste Collection and Waste Recycling Credits of one tonne each.
Green credits
India's Green Credit Programme. Plantation credits have been non-tradable since the 2025 revision and serve CSR, ESG and compensatory afforestation needs.
Energy attribute certificates
REC and I-REC certificates for metered renewable power.
Consultation services

Eligibility screening
Which credits and obligations apply to your activities, sites and region.
Baseline and feasibility
Historical data, baseline scenario, additionality and a clear go or no-go.
Registration
CPCB EPR portals, CCTS offset projects and voluntary registries.
Project documentation

Verification support
Coordination with verifiers and auditors, and responses to their findings.
Issuance and transfer
Registry accounts, certificate transfers and retirement records.
Compliance filings
EPR annual returns, recycled-content and reuse evidence, and monitoring reports.
Audit services
Audit your claims before a verifier does
The Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2026 allow EPR claims to be verified by designated agencies and registered environment auditors, and the Environment Audit Rules, 2025 assign those auditors through a randomised process. Carbon and water credits face independent verification too. Our audits test the same evidence while you still have time to fix it.

Verifier-ready fileAn organised file for the regulator, auditor or verifier.
Our audits are independent pre-verification and due-diligence reviews. They do not replace statutory verification by CPCB, State Pollution Control Boards, designated agencies or registered environment auditors, or validation and verification by accredited bodies under CCTS and voluntary standards.

Pathway finder
Which credits could your work qualify for?
Choose your organisation and tick what you do. The finder lists the routes worth screening and the evidence each one needs. It is a starting point for a conversation, not a decision on eligibility.

Evidence a verifier can follow
A credit is only as strong as the records behind it. Our platforms capture each quantity with its time, place and source, so the audit trail exists before anyone asks for it.

Rules change. The references on this page were last reviewed on 27 October 2026. For background on how a local body can combine these credits, read our article on the Sustainable Tech Park and EPR, carbon and water credits.
Does MPRO 9 issue or guarantee credits?
No. EPR certificates are generated and recorded on CPCB's portals, and carbon, water and plastic credits are issued by their registries after independent verification. We prepare your registrations, evidence and documents, audit them, and support you through verification. We do not guarantee that a credit will be issued, or its volume or price.
Who verifies EPR certificates and environmental credits?
For EPR, CPCB and the State Pollution Control Boards oversee compliance, and the Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2026 provide for verification by designated agencies and registered environment auditors. Under India's Carbon Credit Trading Scheme, verification is carried out by accredited carbon verification agencies. Voluntary standards such as Verra and Gold Standard use accredited validation and verification bodies, and the Universal Water Registry issues water credits after a verification report.
What does a credit-readiness audit cover?
We test your data, documents and field evidence against the rule or standard you are claiming under. You receive a findings report graded by severity, an evidence index and a corrective action plan, so you go into a filing or verification knowing where you stand.
Can a municipality earn carbon credits from waste it already has to manage by law?
Sometimes. Most standards require a project to go beyond what the law already requires, known as regulatory surplus, and to show it would not have happened without credit revenue, known as additionality. India's Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026 encourage local bodies to explore carbon credits, but each project still has to pass these tests. We check them before you commit time or money.
Can the same tonne of plastic earn an EPR certificate and a plastic credit?
Claiming the same environmental benefit twice is double counting, and regulators and registries treat it seriously. Whether both instruments can apply depends on each standard's rules and on who holds each claim. We map every tonne to a single claim, or document how the claims are kept apart.
How long does it take to receive credits?
It depends on the route. EPR work follows the compliance year and its annual returns. Carbon and water projects take longer, because they need registration or validation, a monitoring period and verification before the first issuance. The pathway report gives you a realistic timeline for your case.
What should we prepare for the first consultation?
A short description of your activities and sites, any registrations or consents you hold, and whatever records you have for the last 12 months, such as weighbridge slips, invoices, meter readings or plantation records. Incomplete data is fine. Finding the gaps is part of the work.
Do we have to use WASTRAQ, KarbanTraq or Watraq?
No. Our platforms make evidence capture easier, but we can work with your existing systems, spreadsheets and documents and map them to what the standard requires.
Do you work outside India?
Yes. MPRO 9 is headquartered in Dubai, with an office in Mysuru. In the UAE we support emissions reporting under Federal Decree-Law No. 11 of 2024 and carbon credit projects on international standards. Projects in other countries are assessed case by case.
How are fees structured?
Each engagement is quoted after the discovery call, based on its scope: the number of sites, the credit routes and standards involved, and the monitoring needed. You receive the scope and fee in writing before any work begins.
